The Conservative Group on Cornwall Council has welcomed the people of Cornwall’s decision to return six Conservative Members of Parliament to Cornwall on December 12’s General Election.
Commenting, Conservative Group Leader, Linda Taylor said:
“The Conservative Group on Cornwall Council is absolutely delighted to see Cornwall again return six Conservative Members of Parliament on Thursday’s General Election.”
“We were particularly pleased to see Cornwall Councillor Cherilyn Mackrory elected to Truro and Falmouth - Cherilyn has been an amazing Cornwall Councillor and she will make a worthy Member of Parliament and successor to Sarah Newton.”
“Conservative Councillors have been out supporting our candidates throughout this election and after the Christmas break, we will now be using these excellent results to look forward to the next local elections in 2021, and turning Cornwall Council blue to go with the view from Westminster.”
