Cllr Linda Taylor, Leader of Cornwall Council, has signed off on £7,830,684.46 of Government funding that Cornwall Council has been given to help low income households install energy saving upgrades and low carbon heating.
This followed a bid submitted by Public Health, Cornwall Council in partnership with Community Energy Plus, Cornwall Housing, Council of Isles of Scilly, Inclusion Cornwall, OVO and Ocean Housing to the Government’s Sustainable Warmth Competition.
Linda said:
“In the week following COP26 I am delighted to have signed off nearly £8million of Government funding Cornwall Council has been awarded to help make low income homes more sustainable and energy efficient, following our successful bid earlier this year.”
“As we head into winter, this will help improve the energy efficiency of 400 homes and make a real, positive improvement to the lives of the people who live in them.”
Thank you to the team and partner organisations who put the successful bid in and I look forward to seeing the funding deployed over the coming months to help the households who need it.”
