Local MP Sheryll Murray and Liskeard Mayor Jane Pascoe were pleased to visit Liskeard School and Community College to celebrate their inclusion in the Secondary Education Edition of The Parliamentary Review. The only school in Devon and Cornwall to be featured.
The Review has a forward by The Chancellor, Philip Hammond MP, and Labour’s former Schools Minister Stephen Timms MP. It then reviews much of the current schools policy before selecting a few schools to feature on in the South of England.
In a statement Head Teacher Alex Lingard said, “We are the only school in Devon and Cornwall invited to take part this year and, I believe, the only Cornish school ever to be included. Obviously, we are very proud of our achievements and thrilled that our inclusive approach and ethos has been recognised at a national level.”
Following her visit Sheryll said, “I am so pleased that Liskeard School and Community College has been recognised in this way. I visit schools in my constituency as regularly as I can and I really appreciate how hard they all work to secure the best possible future for our young people. I am always saying how wonderful schools in South East Cornwall are and it is great to see this national recognition.”
